Why do my baby's feeding amounts vary so much?

A range of feeding amounts is totally typical for a breastfed baby! Just like you, sometimes a baby is ready for a full meal and sometimes, just looking for a little snack. Sometimes, your babe is sleepy at the breast, or distracted by a singing big brother, or simply comfort nursing to wind down. Also, did you know a mother’s milk production changes throughout the day? You’ve probably noticed you have more milk in the morning, and gradually less as the day wears on. So long as your baby seems satisfied, varied feeding amounts are a-ok!
