If you're planning on traveling with your Rest+ here are some tips and tricks so you can continue to use your Rest+ seamlessly!
If you're traveling where there won't be any WiFi available:
- If your Rest+ remains powered on during travel and doesn't run out of battery power your programs will run as scheduled even if you can't get connected to a WiFi network.
- That being said, if you're traveling to a different timezone and cannot connect to a WiFi network your programs will run on the timezone they were originally set on.
- If your Rest+ loses power and runs out of battery backup your device will reset back to the original factory settings and you will need to get the device online to regain your customized favorites and/or programs. To do this in a location without WiFi would mean you'd need to create a hotspot via your smartphone to connect to your Rest+ so you can have programs run on a schedule.
- Additionally, you won't be able to make any edits to your programs or favorites if you can't get your Rest+ online.
Traveling to a Hotel:
In order to connect to your Rest+ via the Hatch Sleep app at a hotel with a captive portal network (or somewhere where WiFi is unavailable), you’ll need to set up a hotspot via your smartphone to connect and control your Rest+. Captive portal networks, like those found at many hotels, hospitals, and airports, require each device using WiFi to sign into the network. You'll only need to have your hotspot active when you want to connect and make changes to your Rest+, if your routine and alarms are set up you won't need to keep the WiFi hotspot active.
How to Connect via Hotspot:
