Why location services must be enabled for Android users

Location Services on Android 5.0+

Android users on 5.0+ must have location services enabled in order to connect to Hatch Baby Rest+. This is a requirement from Google for any app connecting to a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) device. Please be assured that our app does not collect or use your location at all.

More information about BLE location permissions can be found on Android's developer site here.

To enable location services, go to Settings >> Apps >> Hatch Baby Rest and enable location.

Location Services on Android 10+

Due to privacy changes on Android 10, we need to ask users to re-enable location permissions for Rest after upgrading to Android 10. This will allow the app to continue to connect over Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and support new Android 10 features and behavior changes. Please be assured that our app does not collect or use your location information.

More information about BLE location permissions can be found on Android's developer site here.

To enable location services, go to Settings >> Apps >> Hatch Baby Rest and enable location.
